Overview

The Ski Area at Jahorina – Skiing of World Class

Jahorina is one of the most spectacular and popular ski resorts in the Balkans – known for its Olympic history, fantastic snow conditions and modern facilities. With the entire 55 kilometers of slopes (45 km of alpine trails and 10 km of Nordic cross-country trails) offers the mountain perfect challenges for beginners, families with children and experienced skiers.

All the slopes are connected via a well-developed and modern lift system, so you can easily move around the entire mountain and create your very own skiing day.

⛷️ Selected Ski Runs & Experiences on the Mountain

  • Poljice (Ski Sports Center):

The most popular slope on the mountain (1,700 m long). It combines intermediate slopes and more demanding sections, making it ideal for developing your skills. The start of the slope is located at Poljice plateau – the heart of Jahorina – with hotels, restaurants and ski schools. Also experience evening/night skiing here on the illuminated slopes with music and good atmosphere!

  • Novak Đoković (Ideal for Beginners):

Named after the tennis star and built in 2019. This is the perfect, easy slope for beginners, children and those who want to refresh their skiing skills in a safe environment. It has direct access to the other slopes.

  • Ogorjelica 1 & 2 (Mellemsvær / Øvede):

Two of the mountain’s absolutely best and most varied slopes with a fantastic panoramic view. Ogorjelica 1 (1,400 m) requires good technique, while Ogorjelica 2 (950 m) offers a more dynamic flow and connects to, among others, the Prača slope.

  • Rajska Dolina (For the Adventurous):

“Paradisdalen” is a challenging and steep slope (800 m) for those seeking an extra dose of adrenaline. From the top, a small lift leads to the iconic Olympic downhill slope.

  • Olympic Slalom & Descent (In the Footsteps of the Olympic Champions):

Jahorina prepared the ground for the Winter Olympics in 1984. Experienced skiers can test their skills on the black Olympic slopes – including the legendary Olympic Descent over 2 km with a drop of 547 meters!

👶 Children's areas & Ski school

Jahorina is extremely family-friendly. Special children's ski areas and play areas ensure that the little ones get a safe and fun introduction to the snow. Professional and trained ski instructors are ready to help both children and adults get off to a good start.

What currency is used in Sarajevo – and can you pay with cards?

Valuation and Payment

In Sarajevo they use Convertible mark, but it is also often possible to pay with Euro (€) many places, especially in hotels and larger stores. Most places in the city – restaurants, cafes, and shops – also accept international payment cards such as Visa and Mastercard.

As Sarajevo is a modern metropolis, it's easy to withdraw money or pay digitally. Prices are generally lower than in Denmark, which makes experiencing the city's gastronomy attractive. We recommend having some local currency or Euros in cash for smaller cafes and market stalls in the old bazaar, but otherwise, you'll manage perfectly well with cards.
